As part of my ongoing research on social studies education, I portray two Civil War characters General Ulysses S. Grant, and a relative of mine Colonel Matt. F. Locke.
Locke served as a Confederate Colonel in the 10th Texas Cavalry and fought in the battle of Stones River near the town of Murfreesburo, Tennessee.
I will make presentations of these two historic characters for elementary, secondary, and colleges classrooms as well as civic clubs and events interested the American Civil War.
If you would like to have Dr. King make a presentation please
contact him either through the Nebraska
Humanities Council Speakers Bureau or by email
tom.king@doane.edu
See my Civil War Bibliography for students and teachers. My General Grant characterization is a product of this research. Enjoy!
